There’s never a time to turn over a new leaf like the New Year. But I purposely waited to post on this annual opportunity the second week into it. Because if you are human, most likely by now, all or some of your resolutions have already gone the way of eight-track tapes, video stores and MySpace. Never a better time, then, to call in the cavalry in the guise of me, your ever-optimistic and encouraging cheerleader, Mrs.Hot.
CHANGE YOUR SAME-OLD FOR NEW-YOUNG.
When I need a pick-me-up, one of my favorite things is to go down to Chinatown for a bracing hit of foreign culture. The exotic sights, sounds, tastes and smells blast me out of the familiar into another world, replenishing, reinvigorating, and rejuvenating me. By the time I leave, all five senses have had a party, and I leave with a goody bag of strange new veggies, fruits or finds from the candy store. This is the power of the new.
THE YOUNG ARE THE RESTLESS.
It’s human nature to look for happiness outside ourselves. I’ve certainly done it.
Consider this yourself. How many times have you thought, “I’ll be happy when ….” Fill in the blank. “When I weigh what I did in college.” “When I get a new job.” “When I quit my job from hell.” “When I retire.” “When I have a boyfriend.” “When I have a husband.” “When I get a divorce.” “When I have kids.” “When the kids go off to college.” “When I get a new car.” “When I sell my car from hell.”

If we pay attention to our thoughts, we’ll be shocked by the endless litany of limits we place upon ourself and our experience. This is insanity.
But on top of our personal limits, society bashes us with an endless barrage of artificial, negative constraints.
Many of these limits, personal or cultural, have no basis in reality. So we build ourselves a prison based on an illusion, pretending as if it’s really there. We function as best we can inside, but stay within the all-important limits. This is not Life à la Hot, this is Life à la Not.

Humans are visual creatures — we experience the world through our eyes, and we make our first immediate judgments about people based on how they present themselves. Whether they’re happy, sad, rich, poor, cool, nerdy, attractive, unattractive, love themselves, or hate themselves.
IN WHICH I REFLECT ON THE ENDURING VALUE OF A GOOD ERECTION.
How we hold ourselves is a universal body language in need of little translation. Round shoulders indicate low self esteem, while hunched ones are fearful and defended. Spineless people are, well, spineless. A stooped back is bent from burdens. Feeling depressed, low? Then so hangs our head.
I'm a gorgeous goddess of a certain age who transformed from shot to hot, a feminist playa refusing to go into the sunset without a Mojito in one hand and a hunka hunka burnin' love in the other! Because sixty IS the new forty or even thirty I will not be dying with my boots on, but with my Jimmy Choo stilettos, thank you very much. I, a sexually liberated woman, stand defiantly against ageism and sexism, adamantly asserting not only is it possible to maintain and even enhance our sexual allure as we ripen, we women have the same right as men to vibrant vitality and romance at any age.
