IN WHICH I CONSIDER: CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODDESSLINESS.
A foundational component of the GAS — Glamour, Attractiveness and Sexiness — that fuels our pursuit of Life à la Hot is simply the hygiene most of us practice, stepped up a tad. Beyond the basic need to eliminate dirt, oil, germs and the smell that accompanies them, here’s another opportunity to enhance our intrinsic feminine charm.
And don’t forget, self-care of any kind is always a choice, and a chance to be there for the all-important Numero Una. Though any aspect of taking care of yourself is self-love, while you shower, shave your legs or anything else, use that opportunity to practice it consciously. Wash yourself lovingly thinking or saying out loud, “I love myself.” Believe it. Feel it.
This is healing at its very essence, and something everybody can take advantage of on a daily basis. How better to attract reverence and respect from others, than to be the primary worshipper at our temple, our precious body.
Because men are hairier than we, the less we have, the more attractive we become — once again, it’s the difference between us and them that’s sexy. In a world without men, I doubt very much we’d shave our legs or underarms, but as long as the marvelous creatures are with us, it’s our cross to bear — and our skin to bare.
Whether you choose to depilate your lady bizness, that’s up to you: Personally, I have no desire to look, at worst, like a toddler — at best, a porn star. By the way, I believe the fashion — and expectation — for hairlessness there came out of the popularity of internet porn, an unlikely source of beauty inspiration for moi, Mrs.Hot — as if.
A regular manicure and pedicure, whether done by you or purchased (save money on these with promotional coupons like Groupon, Living Social, and Amazon Local) are essential to a polished look. And remember, whatever’s the province of our sex and not theirs, gives double hot points. So if you can handle them, longer nails lengthen fingers and beautify hands, while adding sexy sizzle as they accentuate the fabulous contrast between us and them.
And nail polish color? That’s up to you, but what screams va-va-voom like red? So mine is often a shade of red — vibrant, bright scarlet for summer, a deep claret for fall with the debut of the Nouvelles Beaujolais, a popping fire engine red when it’s time to blast my holiday siren. For spring, the red gets diluted down with white as I’m drawn to vibrant pinks, just like the world blooming around me.
If you can afford cosmetic dentistry (extended payments available on Carecredit with low or no interest) go for it, because nothing’s more attractive than neat rows of pearly whites, and I mean, white. When I got my teeth bleached and they asked how far I wanted to go, I demanded the max and labelled it “Suze Orman White.” Yes, I believe that’s a Pantone color, if not a Benjamin Moore one. Then, of course, meticulous care of your teeth — brushing and flossing — is a no-brainer.
Because at night we need to sink our teeth into a hot meal of male — not into a glass in the bathroom.
Yours truly,
